As some of you know from my recent posts, I have been introducing my kids to FOSS/Linux environments for years. We also play games together. I thought it might be fun to share some of our analog hobbies with one another to help grow the community.
I am an animal lover, but the "always working on something"/micromanaging systems mentality drove me to amatuer "aquarist" which I share with my ~8 middle son.
I also do minor consumer rights advocacy as I am a big fan of treating people like people. That includes respecting their time and money. Mostly that just involves staying on top of resources and redirecting people to the appropriate ones.
I do consider self-improvement a hobby as it's something to be worked on and enjoyes. If anyone is interested in that, it's rather long-winded but anyone can message me privately. My wife hates it because I will spend hours talking to strangers about personal ethics, logic, etc.
I'm an avid cook/baker. I don't profess to be the best, but I can hold my own.
Lastly, I consider speaking and writing art forms. While I am an amateur comedian and I occasionally help write jokes for amatuer stand-ups in my area, my dream job is to be a comedic or children's programming voice actor. I'm not a by the book grammar nerd, but I do think how we write and speak is every bit as important as what we want to talk about.
