So I've got a new personal server running a service (lnd) on port 9735. I want this to be accessible from the outside world.
I've run into a few problems
- My router is from a small brand, poorly documented, and I can't get port forwarding working.
- Port 9735 apppears to only be accesible from localhost.
- I know nothing about firewalls. Ufw confuses me, let alone iptables.
For problem 1 I've set my Pi as DMZ, I figure I can forward 9735 from there using a firewall or, for now, an ssh tunnel.
For problem 2:
I heard lnd's function can be confirmed with telnet
node$ telnet localhost 9735
Connected to localhost.
Escape character is '^]'.
Then after a moment:
Connection closed by foreign host.
The above is the same behaviour as trying to telnet a known properly configured lnd node
Trying to telnet in locally:
desktop$ telnet <nodeip> 9735
telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused
I've allowed port 9735 in ufw, I've also tried disabling ufw, no luck.
