Ever since they've put difficulty levels in video games, I've been playing on the hardest or second from hardest difficulty. Even when games don't have difficulty levels, myself and a lot of gamers, we make things more difficult just for fun. Speed runs, completing games without using certain weapons, etc.
Here's my conundrum, by doing the above... It takes a lot of time. I have recently been reducing difficulty in some story driven games lately to save time. I have other responsibilities and hobbies I want to get into. But I don't want to become like my dad. The guy who played video games then just stopped as an adult and lost all ability and interest... Not to mention skill.
So what do you guys do? What difficulty level do you guys play games at? What do you do, if anything, to keep your skills sharp? And what keeps you passionate about gaming?
