First, @gbryant, we need a "Cool Linux Hardware" Tag btw. 'Cause that is what this is about. Secondly, I love SBCs. I love them so much that I even watch this old British guy on YouTube review SBCs of all types. Highly recommended if you like SBCs like me. https://youtube.com/ExplainingComputers
So, onto the next part of the thread. I have been searching for an SBC that I can turn into my own personal router. I have AT&T and they have a monopoly in my area. They sucked to begin with, and maybe it is just me, but ever since the repeal of Net Neutrality, it does seem to be more inconsistent service. Right now, we have a stock router that they installed for us, so Idk anything about it because it is closed-source. So I wanted to build my own open-sourced router out of one of my sadly few SBCs. RasPi only has 100Mb ethernet so that was out of the question. I've been doing some digging since starting this endeavor and I finally found what I have been looking for.
BEHOLD, the Marvell ESPRESSObin Single Board Motherboard Open-Sourced Networking Board!
