I am thinking of getting Manjaro OpenBox edition, but I have a few questions.
OpenBox, i3, dwm and other windows managers don't have settings. You need to modify config files(not in dwm). You need to read documentations for that.
cuddly_bear Can I modify it enough to add shortcuts though and a search bar to its startmenu, right?
joe213 Yes, you can there is documentations and tutorials on the web. Personally I use suckless dwm.
cuddly_bear suckless dwm
What is dwm? Is that another Window manager?
joe213 dwm is dynamic window manager. But, you need to patch it and recompile it when you want to add shortcuts or other functionality.
cuddly_bear Is that the same case with OpenBox? Or do I just need to restart OpenBox to apply any changes?
joe213 you only need to restart openbox to apply changes. You need to edit configuration file for adding some customization.
cuddly_bear Thanks for that.
Out of curiosity why do you use dwm over OpenBox when you have to recompile the entire dwm software?
joe213 I use dwm because it's small and written in C. If you want to add something you need to edit source code. That's why you need recompile dwm.
