ankitdixit I took the LPI 101 test and passed it in 2006. The Linux Professional Institute is probably the original Linux certification. I didn't take the 102 test for level 1 certification. I hear an employer would look for someone with a large number of hours put into a domain of knowledge but the certifications are a great way to cover a diverse area of knowledge. The LPI has 3-4 levels of certifications and the higher levels are intended to only be obtained by Linux administrators with years of experience. My impression of Comptia's Linux+ certification is that it's an entry level, maybe for general Linux users, single test which feels like it's not appropriate for substantial industry use.
